I've been working with Drupal a bit recently on projects for other people and I thought it was about time we got some benefit out of it ourselves. Drupal is an opensource CMS project that has contributors from all over the world. The actual code itself is lovely and modular, making it nice and easy for people like us to extend and twist it as we please.

The hope is that it should allow us to get our new site up and running much quicker.... we'll see!

About a year ago Will decided to step out of the mainstream to purchase his first Mac and it wasn't long before I followed suit.

There's something about that elegant OS X interface that really inspires a person to go forth and create. For me that creative burst came in the form of a Dashboard Widget called Gmail Checker. Truth be told I think we were both somewhat surprised at the popularity it gained. It even managed to take second place in a beauty contest.

Don't worry, it's not a one off. In fact, we have another one just on the horizon...but more on that later :)

Over the next couple of days there are going to be quite a few posts offering a retrospective look at how our projects got to where they are now. Bit of a flourish of activity but hey, we got a new blog and by god we're going to use it.

We've temporarily made this blog our homepage whilst we undergo a rapid really good redesign of our main page. The new site will tie all our little projects together under one roof, the main focus of which will be our Scue Records label.

Absolute musical madness - or so we claim. The Axis Of Cool is our rebellion against the deteriorating state of the Mashup genre. There's no doubt that it's mashup, but it doesn't play it safe like all the other mixes in the genre seem to do these days. Where else will you find Nelly rapping side by side with Leonard Nimoy and Marilyn Manson?

Don't let the self-indulgent intro put you off - from memory you get over 60 tracks jammed into less than 40 minutes and the funk, my friend, is most certainly flying.
